Thirty leather documents, letters and accounts alike, and eighteen wooden tally sticks from the Bactrian satrap Akhvamazda's own chancery show Achaemenid administration surviving, coherent and Aramaic-speaking, all the way to Alexander's conquest, with one document dated to his own seventh regnal year.
