A large hymn corpus for Ishme-Dagan of Isin, son of Ishbi-Erra, argues for the young Isin dynasty's right to Enlil's favor at Nippur by claiming for the king the same scribal mastery, athletic prowess, and divine sonship that Shulgi's hymns had claimed a generation earlier for Ur.
