Across a series of stelae raised at the temple of Amun he rebuilt at Kawa, Taharqa credits an exceptional Nile flood and his own piety for restoring a sanctuary that had fallen into ruin, presenting Kushite kingship as the guarantor of Amun's neglected cult in Nubia.
