Notitia Dignitatum
Notitia Dignitatum
An illustrated register of every civil and military office in the late Roman Empire, down to the specific insignia and troop units each official commanded, survives as the single most detailed administrative snapshot of the imperial bureaucracy at its most elaborate. Ravenna is a conventional inference for the Western court, not directly attested.
