Romaka Siddhanta, whose name (of the Romans) signals its debt to Greco-Roman astronomical method reaching India through Indo-Roman maritime trade, does not survive independently and is known only through Varahamihira's later quotation of it, making it a rare textual trace of direct Hellenistic influence on Indian astronomy. Ujjain is only its conventional Indian astronomical reference point; the actual place of composition is unknown.
